Madonna con Bambino is a bronze sculpture created by Antonio Danzi from Viggiù (Italy) and is meanwhile also known as the “Madonna del Tamaro”. The Madonna with the child has been majestically watching over Alpe Foppa restaurant and its surroundings since the 15th June 1985.

The statue was blessed in Lugano on the 12th of June 1984 by Pope John Paul II during his visit in Ticino.
